I have been into ATT several times to have my landline (which only exists for the sake of my DSL) and my cellular phone bill combined. The last time I was assured that I was being billed for both and paying both when I paid my cellular bills.

Again, they were incorrect. My landline got cut, and, despite acknowledge that there were several notes to about trying to join the accounts, they weren't willing to waive the 40 dollars to re-initiate service.

This is cranky inducing all on its own. Unfortunately this means that I have to repeat the initiation process with my DSL provider, who have a note saying that "If ATT cuts your service, it may take 1 to 3 weeks to restore DSL." Yargggh.

On top of that, ATT would charge $1.25 a month not to list my name and phone number in the phone book. How is charging me not to make my personal information available at all OK? In this instance I don't really care, as the phone-line essentially directs to /dev/null, but still, the principle is fucked up.

Not a happy Jen.

(Well, there have been specific bits of joy. The tattoo of "Ceci N'est Pas Une Pipe Bombe" underneath the canonical Magritte Pipe and a matching sphere with fuse made me smile. The bearer of said tattoo also had the silhouettes of metalworking tools on a forearm, and a messenger bag appliqued with a giant squid attacking a city.)
