Amnesty International states that the U.S. government and Gulf Coast states have consistently violated the human rights of hurricane victims since Hurricane Katrina killed about 1,800 people and caused widespread devastation after striking in August 2005.

I don't think this is the only place the US is failing on human rights for its citizens, but it is certainly pretty blatant. I really hope Amnesty International's statement makes Americans think more about institutionalized raciscm, though I am not holding my breath.

What are your thoughts on primary relationships where one party is the custodial parent of a child not from that relationship? Presupposing a reasonable amount of emotional aptitude and insight on the part of the adults who are working for a long term committed connection. I am looking for what folks have seen in the wild or how they suspect people work in general rather than first person opinions (unless you happen to be or have been a single parent).

I get more responses when I use a poll mechanism, which is unfortunate as the format does not suit the questions and would I like more robust feedback from all of you.

Further clarification, question one is relationships with a child vs without. The rest are compared to other relationships where one party is a parent.
