I am behind on my 300 word post/day goal, and I have a rather horrendous head cold which is just beginning to move into my throat. Rather than promise myself I will catch up later (which is some of why I am behind) I am going to inflict the world (well, those who persist in reading this) with 300+ words of pointless babble.

This isn't a plea for pity, I actually feel grand, in a woozy kinda way, because I have a low tolerance for medication because I so rarely take it. For example, last night's NyQuil (big fucking Q!) still has my body all tingly and my head kinda swimmy. Yes, there was a small boost this morning from a half dose of pseudo-ephedrine, but most of this is still the NyQuil.

Medicine head aside, tonight I made an almost perfect pair of dwarven battle bread loaves. I am still trying to figure out how to get them out of the bakeware. Fortunately, last night's lesson in non-battle beer bread returned hoped for and tasty results. The sesame cookies were also tasty, though not as consuming of sesame seeds as i would have liked (there is a dearth of recipes that require more than a cup of seeds).

More about sesame seed cookies. While a common treat throughout the south benne wafers are particularly associated with Charleston, South Carolina. The recipe (as well as the sesame plant) arrived with the slaves and has its roots central African tradition I did a bit of searching and am a bit surprised that the traditional Bantu (central Africa) luck cookies weren't adopted into the local Orisha traditions (which came over with slaves from West Africa). Or, if they were, the internet was not making that information easily findable.

311 words. I'm done.

Thanks!

Fortunately, sorta, it has finally dropped from my head to my lungs. I much prefer coughing to not being able to breath. :}
