..my drapes don't match the carpet *or* the upholstery.

(come to think of it, I am not sure my upholstery matches itself.)

Okay, I know where the drapes and the carpet are, but where is the upholstery?

I'm always learning something new...even at my age.

<laughing> The comment was in response to today's XKCD (http://xkcd.com/508/). I am not sure that "upholstery" is a common euphemism for anything, but I upped the silly a bit: As upholstery is what covers the padded furniture, I am thinking that body art counts.

I left my windows bare.

and honestly? matching the upholstery sounds expensive :p

Actually, most custom upholstery is kinda expensive. I mean I suppose the pen and a needle variety is cheap, but I am a bit old for that kinda indiscretion.

("I was drunk with friends, and we decided to try our hands at home-tattoos. Yeah, we spelled her name wrong, I did say we were drunk." doesn't fly so well in one's thirties.)

...so...
How do you feel about, say, paisleys? or argyle? *grin* I mean, really, if you're not gonna match, you might as well go all-out.

As you may have noted, I seem to be favoring colorful floral patterns of late. But if you really think it would work, I may be convinced to try out an argyle carpet scheme. ;}
